The CDC may have caused some of those potholes. For instance, their insistence on outdoor masking, or masking even if all participants are vaccinated is probably both needless AND teaching people to ignore (or worse) what the CDC or other gov’t representatives are telling them.
That “10% chance if working outside”? Probably closer to 0.01% if you look more closely at the source data. And people who have been working together, outside, have personal experience that “none of MY crew” has come down with it.

Sadly, I know several people who refuse to get vaccinated – who insist that we will reach herd immunity without them getting vaccinated…
