At least the first part was popular urban legend when I was a tad. This comic is set before Mythbusters showed that the terminal velocity of a penny was non-lethal.
Hahahahaha. I was that one friend who could tell spectacular stories of that caliber. In middle school, I told my friend that the school was haunted by the ghosts of two highschoolers. They were out on the fifth floor fire escape kissing and the fire escape pulled away from the wall. They now haunt the halls. This was total BS, considering A. our school only had four floors and B. does not have fire escapes, instead having a ton of stairways. Still, I fooled him for a minute.

Myth Busters. Direct measure of terminal velocity of coin by use of high power fan. Interesting method.

Melt the coin into a ball and put it in a bullet cartridge. That’ll do it.
Then tape the cartridge to a bowling ball, to make it easier to measure the speeds.

The killer coin was around in the 50s, if not before.

That story is so amazing, that it’s almost as if you made it up.
