A sad state of affairs when Liz Cheney (daughter of Darth Cheney) and Mitt R-Money are the voice of sanity in the Republican Party.

In the meantime, the “long-nosers” are clearly demonstrating the other, uhm, “shortcomings” for which they have to overcompensate.

People do seem to embrace whatever they have to do to maintain their strongly held / wished for beliefs. More so if they feel their beliefs are under attack. So if they get long noses from speaking their “Wish-it-were-truths”, they’ll embrace that, as shown here.

Do the “Republicans” feel that the rest of the world does not notice or not care about the big lie? The irony of “making America great” is that it has instead made America more like a fumbling, rabble-rousing, divided, third-world country with no self-respect.

The inevitable outcome that the “impartial, unbiased” election auditors in Arizona are going to come up with is only going to add fuel to the (dumpster) fire we’ve become.

They’re revving up for a new onslaught. My bellwether is a local house that keeps Trump billboards on their front lawn. Just yesterday I saw a whole new array of signs put up. It seems they’re counting on Arizona to flip in 2022, then they can overturn the 2020 results in order to declare Trump Emperor.

    No, they’re not crazy. Much.

Could it be that they have no other issues? We know that they have no program of their own, other than “lower taxes, less government”.

^ Ahem… On November 9 and 10, The New York Times called the offices of top election officials in every state; all 45 of those who responded said there was no evidence of fraud. Some described the election as remarkably successful considering the coronavirus pandemic, the record turnout, and the unprecedented number of mailed ballots. On November 12, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency issued a statement calling the 2020 election “the most secure in American history” and noting “There is no evidence that any voting system deleted or lost votes, changed votes, or was in any way compromised.”

Even after the casting of the electoral votes and rejection of his lawsuits seeking to overturn the election by at least 86 judges, Trump refused to concede defeat. In a speech following the Electoral College vote, Biden praised the resiliency of U.S. democratic institutions and the high election turnout (calling it “one of the most amazing demonstrations of civic duty we’ve ever seen in our country”) and called for national unity. Biden also condemned Trump, and those who backed his efforts to subvert the election outcome, for adopting a stance “so extreme that we’ve never seen it before – a position that refused to respect the will of the people, refused to respect the rule of law and refused to honor our Constitution” and for exposing state election workers and officials to “political pressure, verbal abuse and even threats of physical violence” that was “simply unconscionable”

GIVE IT UP, SILLYBILLY!!! trump LOST, BIDEN WON!!

This time Liz Cheney won the “Profile In Courage” award. Look what it did for Mitt Romney. As Susan Collins would say, “He’s learned his lesson.”

Rep. Anthony Gonzalez of Ohio, who also voted to impeach Herr Groppingfuror: ""If a prerequisite for leading our conference is continuing to lie to our voters, then Liz is not the best fit. Liz isn’t going to lie to people. Liz is going to say what she believes. She’s going to stand on principle. And if that’s going to be distracting for folks, she’s not the best fit. I wish that weren’t the case." Another damning indictment of the current Republican party, which has rotted and is overrun by maggots.

Americans mortified to learn there may be compromising Trump sex tapes: ‘Please. No. Yuck’

The former MI6 spy Christopher Steele produced a second dossier for the FBI on Donald Trump while he was in the White House, sources told The Telegraph. Mr Steele filed a series of intelligence reports to US authorities during the Trump presidency, including information concerning alleged sexual exploits," the British newspaper reported Monday evening.

“Mr Steele’s continued involvement supplying intelligence to the FBI appears to give credibility to his original dossier, which sparked a Special Counsel investigation by prosecutor Robert Mueller into Russian interference into the 2016 US presidential elections,” the newspaper noted. “The second dossier contains raw intelligence that makes further claims of Russian meddling in the US election and also references claims regarding the existence of further sex tapes. The second dossier is reliant on separate sources to those who supplied information for the first reports.”

The survey (pdf) of 1,138 likely voters across the country—conducted from April 16 to April 19 by Data for Progress on behalf of Vox—found that, when presented without partisan cues, the voting rights and election reform bill is popular with voters across party lines. Overall, 69% of the electorate supports the For the People Act, including 52% of Republicans, 70% of Independents, and 85% of Democrats.

More than 80% of respondents said they supported preventing foreign interference in elections, limiting the influence of money in politics, and modernizing election infrastructure to increase election security. More than 60% of respondents supported requiring nonpartisan redistricting commissions, a 15-day early voting period for all federal elections, same-day registration for all eligible voters, automatic voter registration for all eligible voters, and giving every voter the option to vote by mail.
