It must be very disheartening for conservatives to have to actually keep up with what’s becoming known in a fast breaking situation such as the pandemic. Of course, quite a bit of the problem is that politicians really aren’t capable of coming up with AND STICKING TO a reasonable, sane, (and unpleasant) necessity. This is true of may pols all over the world. See, for instance the situation in India.
It is sad to see people so wrapped up in lies/conspiracy theories — e.g. Covid-19 is just the flu — that they cannot accept sound, sane, helpful advice from doctors/scientists who have expertise in respiratory diseases and have so little self-respect that they will hurt themselves and others in their futile quest for "freedom’’.
The panditiots see CDC guidelines as infringements of their rights. If masks protected the wearer rather than everybody else around them, these selfish fools would all be wearing three masks at a time. Instead, they’re providing Covid with a whole batch of new hosts in which to replicate and spin off new variants. At this rate, we’ll have to wait years until Covid kills off the stupid before we can hit herd immunity.
I still remember that, in the beginning of all this, we were told that masks weren’t necessary. Then, we were told that we should wear them. Now we’re being told that if we’re fully vaccinated, we don’t need to wear masks around other fully-vaccinated people, even though the vaccine doesn’t keep one from actually getting COVID. So what’s next? Next week, will we hear them say, “Whoops! We were wrong, and you still need to wear masks.” No, thanks. Nowadays, I’m just going to continue being super cautious until I see evidence of cases dropping in my area.

The constant barrage of C-Virus “information”, “updates”……PSAs……etc. is mind numbing (can’t escape it)

That wasn’t smart, fella. What if one of today’s recommendations is to get out of bed?
