It’s better to remain silent, and let people think you’re stupid, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt….

Maxine Waters has always been an advocate of the methods of MLK, not violent confrontation. She also did not advocate the overturning of a legal U.S. election by any means possible.

She said there should be protests against injustice. That’s all.

But nothing make Republicans angrier than a mouthy black woman speaking her mind.

So it looks as if the RW Meme for the Week is gonna be Maxine Waters…but it would be OK if she were Republican.

I’ve listened to the on the street interview of Maxine Waters. The press kept prodding her to say what she thought the protesters ought to do. The press wanted something juicy to go viral and they got it with the “get more confrontational” remark. Prior to that remark, Maxine also said the protesters needed to “get more active” which implies more protests nationwide, which is our right under the US Constitution.

Now, Maxine also said that she wanted a murder in the first degree against Chauvin, but I doubt that will happen. Having listened and read of the case it seems more likely that he can be found guilty of second or third degree manslaughter. His actions did cause the death of Floyd, but I’m not convinced of his intent to do kill Floyd.

Exaggerated response to what she actually said as well as the situation. White nationalism is now a definitive policy of one of the political parties. We can’t be nice or try compromising. Pat them on the back and explain to them calmly they mustn’t hate non-whites, women, LGBTQ people. Yeah. Tell them we could accept misogyny and anti-LGBTQ but not racism. Nope. You have a patch of noxious weeds growing in the garden you must dig all of them out by the roots to stop the spread.

Rudy Giuliani slammed for saying that Maxine Waters made a ‘direct threat to the jury’ in the Chauvin trial

Commenters on social media quickly scorned Giuliani, some of them reminding him he had said far worse at the “Save America” rally mere minutes before a violent pro-Trump mob invaded the U.S. Capitol.

Maxine attacked know nothing Jim Jordan for saying he knew more than Fauci.

Racist Republicans are attacking Maxine because she stands up for black people.

George Clooney is making a movie about Jim Jordan’s sex scandal.

I don’t think her statement was smart while the trial was ongoing, but at the same time the reaction feels like white people not liking someone so “uppity”.

Being a member of congress does not allow one to intimidate a sitting jury and foment violence. Her actions gave the defense an opportunity to press for a mistrial and even Judge Cahill said that if the jury sided against Chauvin that it would allow for an appeal. Way to go Maxine, shooting your own cause in the foot.

Yeah cause Cruz, Hawley, Greene, and a few others didn’t do the same leading up to and on Jan 6th. If her words leads to violence then she should be held to the same level of accountability as the aforementioned Republican Congressmen.

What she actually said was a lot less inflammatory than this image (no surprise), and in fact was in two parts. The public part was MUCH less inflammatory, and the “mostly to the press” part was … somewhat ambiguous, but could be construed to be inflammatory.
