Last spring, just before it was clear we were entering a pandemic, I bought flights and a rail pass for my daughter to travel to the UK. It took me months to get the flights refunded and over 1 year to finally get the rail pass refunded.
Only if the reservations for sites that are still in business and, even then, maybe not. An Outer Banks news story last spring detailed how rentals agencies at first refused to refund deposits and payments. It was as if they were claiming the pandemic was a public disaster that wasn’t covered in the leases. Public pressure, looming lawsuits, and possible long term dissatisfaction kinda changed their thinking.
Well, it’s a toss-up in my opinion. Should I travel with people who think masking is an infringement of their personal liberties and freedom, or should I just wait to be taken out by a mass shooter at the supermarket? It’s a “heads you win, tails I lose” either way, isn’t it? /s
I will wait until Dr Fauci and other medical/science experts tell me it is safe. Until then, because I like myself as well as those taking care, getting vaccinations, and despite their odious “me not we” beliefs, trumpers, qanoners, and possibly white nationalists.

I still have quite a few reservations about going on vacation. Despite being vaccinated.

May 21st. That’s the day I will raise my flag to full staff IF we can go 30 days without another mass shooting.
I am not optimistic. I’m 72 years old. I may not live long enough to see that.
