I guess the image could be construed to be Biden as Sisyphus pushing his agenda up the sharp incline of Trump’s faulty policies. Goodwyn’s cartoons are so often tortured metaphors.

There will always be a problem with people crossing the border. It has been happening for years. They are looking and working for a better life. Isn’t that the republican mantra, pull yourself up by the bootstraps.

The only reason I read your editorial cartoons is to remind how sick and demented the GOP has become and why I will never vote for another Republican until this Trump-inspired BS is done.

There is only one permanent solution to the ‘border crisis’: Make the economy, living conditions, and political stability of the US worse than in the neighboring countries. At which point all those potential immigrants have no reason to immigrate anymore. Think it’s worth it?

Biden has said over and over that the border is closed. No one is being let in except unaccompanied children. It is important to keep those children safe. What would the GOP have us do? Throw the 3 and 5 year old little girls back over the fence? Tell the 10 year old little boy to “man up” and keep on wandering through the desert by himself?

Love the way Al has realigned the state’s borders. Get back to grade school, Al, and learn your geography.

Crazy right wing paranoia is all over the country. If we only had a strong dictator to make American great again.

There has always been tension between letting new immigrants in and those who are already here. Everyone has seen what has happened (and is happening) to the original inhabitants of this land.

Sure, after Trump “solved” the border crises, Biden had to go and “break” it again… good thing Trump got Mexico to pay for The Wall…

I genuinely and honestly don’t care about the “border crisis”. There are far more pressing issues going on right now.

Al, Here’s why you get a lot of reader blowback on your political cartoons: your political cartoons present the Trumpublican Party line from Fox News and similar limited-perspective news sources. Many people who read your cartoons on GoComics also read a large number of newsfeeds and often news magazines as well, such as (but not limited to) CNN, MSNBC, MSNews, The Guardian, USA Today, The New York Times, the New York Post, the Wall Street Journal, ABC, Associated Press, CNET, Newsweek, The Hill, Today, AND Fox News. When they do this, they come see a consensus regarding the facts of a situation. They also read books and have considerable education, acquired from educational institutions and/or self-study, as well as considerable life experience. Reading Fox News and their ilk and comparing what is being said to the wider range of news sources, here’s what we see Fox et al. doing as a matter of standard operating procedure: 1. Obscuring or omitting facts (reported in the larger field of news sources) which do not support the party line. 2. Presenting actions or situations that actually occurred out of chronological order, to support the party line. 3. Exaggerating or misrepresenting situations that occurred in order to support the party line. Continued…

Earth to Goodwtyn; there is no crisis at the border! Each immigrant, legal or illegal contributes more that $20 to our economy for every $1 they cost. The crisis is the bigoted racist swine who hate brown people. Ring any bells Mr. Goodwyn?

The current state has much to do with Trump. Biden has been in office for how long? Trump spent 4 years making it a very expensive for the tax payers and very lucrative for those that kissed his ass. Biden has made improvements, but it’s going to take some time to improve and reinstate the previous procedures that were not only efficient, but much more cost effective.

In fact, it’s arguably partly Biden’s fault. Not from NOW (heaven forfend ol’ Al would preach history in this limited venue) but from when he was involved in overturning elections in SA. The USA has a long history of that, and the folks trekking north in search of SOME way to make a living, without (so much) fear of the gangsters are one of the natural results of our interference.

And, in a way, it is. Who removed the aid to these countries? ‘In fiscal year 2017, the last year of the Obama administration and the first of Trump’s, 303,916 migrants were arrested by the Border Patrol. This was the lowest level in more than three decades. The Clinton, Bush and Obama administrations had worked hard to tackle the problem of illegal migration through substantial increases in border security staffing, improvements in technology, innovations in strategy and improved security coordination and assistance to Mexico. Coupled with improved economic conditions in Mexico, these administrations were hugely successful in deterring and breaking the cycle of illegal crossing: Unlawful Mexican economic immigration, which had historically been the primary immigration enforcement issue at the border, dropped nearly 90 percent between 2000 and 2016.’ Continued:
