So now Sidney Powell’s defense against a defamation lawsuit is that her statements were so absurd as to not be believable?

After Tucker Carlson successfully used that absurd defense against a libel charge, I guess that is their new thing. Just admit it was all made up. The cult worshippers won’t be deterred no matter how many times you humiliate them. They have basically said that no REASONABLE person could believe such absurdities, so all the gullible suckers who DO believe their conspiracy theory garbage have just had their noses rubbed in it.

While it was nonsense when Tucker, whose show is on a “news” network and who intones his pontifications with deep (if faux) sincerity, such that many (however foolishly) DO take him seriously, it is an even bigger stretch for Sidney Powell.

Powell is an attorney; she was not speaking as an entertainer; she was speaking as an attorney REPRESENTING THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES when she made those statements, she was holding up all these papers (on TV shows, not in court) alleging them to be “affidavits” and was involved in 60 court cases. She expected to be taken seriously, and January 6 proves that she was, indeed, taken very seriously.

I think the ruling in the Tucker Carlson case was an aberration (I hope it is being or will be appealed), as he is the highest-rated program on a garbage outlet that has the nerve to call itself the Faux NEWS channel, but the claim is even more far-fetched coming from an ATTORNEY OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.

Eh. That may actually work in this civil lawsuit. Though I sort of doubt it. It won’t work with an actual crime: For those, the only things that matter are the facts and whether you were in control of your actions.

So, by their own admission, only unreasonable people believe Sydney Powell and Fox.

They were all unreasonable deranged lunatics. Lunatic. Howl at the moon, Powell, see if that gets you anywhere. Chances are better than getting ANYone to believe this line of bs.

The GULLibles aka Trumpbirds are attempting to make a legal defense that you have to be gullible to believe their falsehoods, fictions and fantasies. True but the ones who want you prosecuted did not believe them. They did recognize however the damage that you inflicted.

Find a cardboard box and overpass that you can live under Sydney.

There it is again. That shrill whiny call of the nearly extinct LEWWWWZZZZER GULLible dodo that circles the landfill looking for a morsel of garbage from the Fat Orange Clown.

Ah, yes, the FTucker Carlson defense. They not only undermine their own credibility, they also insult the intelligence of anyone who ever listened to them. A definite two-fer.

Oh! It was a joke! Wow, you really got me! Is my face red! So, when I scream “Fire!” in a crowded theater or night club, as long as I assert that only a damn fool, a drunk, a lunatic, or a liar would claim that s/he believed me, I’m off the hook for causing the deaths of all those trampled to death by the damn fools, the drunks, the lunatics, or the liars within earshot. Ah, free speech sans duty and responsibility. Thanks for the clarification.

Since Sidney’s statements, at the time, were aimed at the MAGA crowd, the phrase “Deranged Lunatic” is a very accurate description.

Anything that people will buy, someone will be perverted enough to supply. True for booze, drugs, whores, and right wing propaganda. There are already websites and radio programs ready to take over if Faux runs out of money. The only thing good about that is that the same people who sued Fox out of business will be listening carefully for the next opportunity to make another killing by suing the new guys.

My guess? The dollar sign and all those zeros caught her attention. How big, is a billion $ whoops?

As ddwiz says, so well, she was an Govt. official and an educated woman. She can’t play the ‘’I was just kidding’’ card. What a gang of misfits.

What a beautiful Saturday, here on the Southcoast, birds in the yard, buds on the trees. We made it thru another winter. If you can get outside, go, enjoy the sun. Take the dog for a walk. Don’t have a dog? Maybe a neighbour would loan you his pup?

    The operative word is “reasonable.”

No REASONABLE person would believe anything she’s ever said about the election. But her comments were not intended for nor directed at reasonable people.

They were for T****, his brain-dead followers, and Fox “News” viewers, and NO ONE has ever accused any of them to be reasonable.
