Anti-abortion laws, and voter restriction. The Republicans are out of the White House, but not out of power.

They are actually the same crisis. Brown people don’t vote red.

Bright and shinny….look, look over there…see the crisis at the border.

    Meanwhile, red states are disenfranchising:

    People of color

    Military overseas

    Out of state students

    Women

    Anyone who can’t drive

Anyone living too far from polls

    Any disabled person

    Etc

    Etc

    Etc.

It is nothing new. Juan Seguin was a hero of the Texas War of Independence. After the war he faced such discrimination that he had to move to Mexico. I was in the 5th grade in Colorado City, Texas in about 1952. Two Mexican boys were caught speaking Spanish on the school grounds. The principal called an assembly and whipped (beat) the two boys before the whole school.

Conservatives know that allowing all citizens to vote is indeed a crisis – to their hold on power – so they must divert attention by exaggerating something else…

Yes, young lady, we do hear you.

We’re not sure what we can do about it yet.

Red states such as Alabama, Georgia, and Texas are working like they never have before as they pass state legislation to trash minority votes, close polling stations in Democratic areas, and make draconian ID requirements before people can vote. Yessir, free and fair elections, Repulsican style.

And a female black representative (Rep. Park Cannon) in GA was arrested for simply knocking on the Governor’s door while he signed the new voter suppression bill into law…

Yep. And pay attention, folks, every time some pundit breathlessly announces the high numbers of refugees — they keep saying it’s the most in years. Those last two words are critical — this is not a record-breaking number of migrants, but they want you to think it is because that’s scary and keeps you listening.
