constantly calling AAA or a tow truck must be eating the couple’s budget

Baldo has his Impala project. I guess this guy has a late 50’s early 60’s MG.

I’m really a good mechanic, having worked on cars, motorcycles, and tractors all my adult life. Back in the 80’s, I even worked as a foreign car mechanic for a few years….Hated It! I really enjoy the time spent working on equipment, but doing it for a living or having to work on a car in order to drive it to work is not enjoyable at all!

Part of the time it’s at home, and part of the time it’s at the mechanic’s.

Can’t be a part time mechanic with these new cars. Best you can do today is change wiper blades and air filters…….

I don’t understand panel 2. Why was he saying that? He was purposely setting it up for his wife to embarrass him?

So when is he a mechanic? He hasn’t told us anything about working on his car.

It sounds like he’s more of a Mechanoops than a mechanic.

I realized at the age of 20 that I needed more of a mechanic than I was. I had a Triumph Spitfire with electrical issues. The engine would turn over, but not fire. I replaced hundreds of dollars in parts with 1967 money. Then I got AAA. The next time it died (in the middle of an intersection) I phoned for service, and a real mechanic arrived on the scene and probed the engine for about 2 minutes and located the problem. He told me I had a short circuit in a wire in the distributor cap. He put a little electrical tape on it, and off I went – after he told me I ought to replace that 99 cent wire.
