Sage observation, Matt… Now how about one about the stupidity of the republican tantrum requiring the entire 700 pages of the bill being read aloud, knowing it would pass anyway.
Totally partisan racist republican fanatics don’t care to fix the problems they created. They gave the USA the biggest case of covid in the world.
Republican liars deliberately spread covid in hopes it would sow confusion and panic and get Trump reelected. They would prefer a dictator and claim the election they clearly lost was ‘stolen’ from them.
Red states are opening without masks just as new more deadly variants of covid are showing up. Expect no help from republicans who constantly ignore every rule of Public Health.
They hate democracy, they want to limit voting, they aren’t even American anymore.
The G.Q.P. are trying to distract American voters with B S manufactured outrage. Meanwhile, behind all that smoke, they are (1) trying to obstruct any and all help that the gov could, would, and should be giving Americans suffering from the disastrous consequences of their mishandling of the government’s response to the multiple crises they themselves have caused. (2) trying to set as many voting obstructions as they can get into place before 2022 elections.. because they know they can’t keep their power any other way. (3) their continued grift of their voter base. They need to keep milking their cash-cow….namely the gold-plated cult idol.
It should be noted that the definition of the problem lies in the label on the safety net held by the democrats – the American Plan Rescue Act. The republicans have not been “on-board” with rescuing Americans for years!
If you would care to observe their actions (not their words), you would notice a grave reluctance to rescue any but themselves and others like themselves.
After 12 years of “Moscow Mitch” and 4 years of Trump, the G.O.P. has shown themselves incapable of true governance of ANYONE other than their own (rapidly shrinking) base – they know how to object; they know how to obstruct; they know how to obfuscate – they just have no clue how to ‘rule’.
At the beginning of the Trump administration, I made the statement that I would accept Trump as my president as soon as he accepted me as part of his “United States”!
Well, he never did, so neither did I!
Trump is NOW in the process of constructing his own party out of the tired and defeated remnants of the republican party – he has refused to let the G.O.P. use his name or image in appeals for donations unless his own political action committee approves the request, (which, of course, they won’t unless they get a cut of the action). It’s ALL part of the swing toward “the Dictatorship of the Proletariat” as predicted in Marx and Ingles book, “The Communist Manifesto”, which they wrote in 1848.
It’s amazing how prescient they were about events in America over 100 years later. Understand, however, that they were totally against the fascism which is springing up around Donnie John.
The people who burned Beatles and Dixie Chicks merch, stopped watching NFL games when players kneel and are boycotting NASCAR for banning Confederate flags, and wanted to annul the election because their dictator lost, want to caution you against Cancel Culture.
Early August 1966, Christian groups, primarily in the Southern United States took to the streets to burn the sin out of their beloved Beatles records in response to John Lennon’s remark that the Beatles were “more popular than Jesus.”
Republican Senators make $83 in tax payer money an hour, they don’t think your work is work $15 an hour. Politicians are supposed to be the servants of the people, not the enemy.
The Republican Party (most, but not all of its members) seems to have degenerated into a morass of anger and negativity — just what they pretend to oppose with the Democrats. What do Republicans actually stand for any more, other than blind obedience to an orange-faced fascist traitor?
This just in—- republicans to force Hasbro to add genital pieces to mr and mrs Potato Head. They with then only be available to GOP members and adult toy stores.

If your re-election strategy is to vote against the will of the majority of Americans, it makes sense to work hard on focused voter suppression.
