I watch just the beginning of the news – covid #’s and weather.

No good news these days…Red and Rover is the best news…I’ll stick with them

Forget the news…I will stick to the comics section!

Bizarro world! News not real and Red and Rover more real. @ least I can happily relate to each of their adventures each day and it fondly reminds me of my childhood antics. Trust me, they were over the top antics. Hilarious!

Reading about the FBI’s investigation of the insurrection makes me feel better.

Every Friday we had to bring in a clipping of a current event. I hated it so much because by my turn, what ever I brought in you could not repeat what someone else did before so you had to think of something else.

I like Basset’s attention to detail. Like the tread on Red’s shoes. I also really like his taking the time to draw in Rover’s foot pads, as he has done in prior strips.

Today, I’d rather take a test!

My takeaway: News has been depressing for more than half a century.

And yet we’re still here.

The news is only depressing if you were expecting something different.

Wise in his years….

At his age at that time I watched the news and still do today.

I stopped watching the news on TV during the mid 70s because it was all bad. I have news apps on my iPad and reading the headlines is bad enough.
