Wings from ears isn’t new. Goes to Patagonia long before Disney and Dumbo. There are big giant heads of a supernatural predators called “Chonchon” which are giant human looking heads with large ears for wings and sharp teeth for eating humans. (A similar creature in the Iroquois & Wyandot religion. One of its names is Dagwûn’noyaênt.)
