As a resident of a state where both recreational and medical cannabis are legal, I have to agree that it’s simply damnfoolishness to let the money flow elsewhere. Many folks here were extremely opposed, and there HAVE been a few negatives. FAR outweighed by the advantages.
I have a friend who comes from down state Illinois, he still has some relatives there. He just sighs when talking about some of his relatives, they are every bit as red as their neighbors to the east.
I don’t enjoy marijuana and I can’t say I approve of it, but I smoke tobacco and I drink alcohol and I think treating marijuana differently from either/both those others is ridiculous.
Besides, ditchweed grows really well in midwestern soil, and if you take the trouble to introduce better strains into the area you can help revitalize small farming. It’s gotta be better than paying farmers NOT to grow corn and soybeans.

But they have very lax gun laws, so it balances out, right? They import the weed and export the guns to their neighboring states.

In justice to Indiana, one needs to remember that their southern border is with Kentucky. The question is who metastasized to whom…

A Hoosier philosopher once said that there were a lot of great men from Indiana… the greater they were the sooner they were away

Indiana’s lack of gun control is responsible for a lot of the guns that end up in the hands of the south-side Chicago gangs.
