“Stop the steal” was like a masked man with a gun robbing a bank to “keep it honest”.

All at the behest of the biggest loser of them all. And the worst part about it is that the country as a whole has been placed in peril simply because Republican’t sycophants still suck up to a racist, misogynistic, spoiled little brat.

Come November 2022, it will be interesting to find out how many of the Senators who vote to acquit Agent Orange in the second impeachment trial (and who are also up for re-election) survive – I fear that their faith in the short-term memory of voters will be justified.

I have to believe, the republikan members of the house/senate don’t realize how 6 January could have been a bloodbath for them. Bullets don’t care, which side of the aisle you sit on.

Foreign sleeper agent for Putin. The most successful one yet. Trump has almost gotten away with destroying the USA.

It is a possibility in my opinion.

That is treason and he should be kept from office again. We will find out more about his illegal actions as time goes by.

Unfortunately Mr. Benson, the Republicans in the Senate don’t see it that way.

The, “Was the violence forseeable?” question was answered by the huge bullet-proof glass surrounding trump as he spoke. It was never seen at his rallies, but there it was on the grounds of the White House.

One almost wishes that the security personnel had not been so heroically diligent in shepherding congresspeople away from the domestic terrorists who were shouting for their blood. If those Republicans who are now so vehemently defending Trump had been in more obvious physical danger from his rabid minions, they might not be so ready to find excuses for his behavior. Not that I wish for any of them to have been actually assaulted (unlike Brian Sicknick, who was beaten to death while defending them), I wish they had been scared into doing the right thing!

When will the Americans who are appalled by this insurrection realize that it was a DECLARATION OF WAR by the Trump ass lickers on all those who are not with them? Act accordingly and put those Trump cultist into concentration camps like you did to the japanese american during WW2… take their property, their money and their status and throw them in camps, and don’t bother to give them masks nor vaccine because they don’t even believe covid exists…

Yes, our attention has been diverted to this direct assault on our democracy, and I in no way mean to minimize it, but let’s not let it overshadow the most atrocious legacy of Disaster Pumpkin’s many misbegotten blunders and idiocies, the outrageous and persistent lying about, and mismanagement of, the coronavirus pandemic that has led to today’s …

New World Record in Ball Dropping

2020-01-07 • Presidential Daily Brief: “Analysts concluded [coronavirus] could be a cataclysmic event.” • Trump did nothing.

    2020-03-11 • WHO declared a global pandemic.

2020-04-15 • While continuing to lie about the pandemic, Trump suspended US funding of WHO.

    2021-02-12 • US coronavirus deaths: 486,968 (57 weeks after PDB; 8543/week)

     For comparison …

    1941-12-07 • Pearl Harbor attack: 2,403

2001-09-11 • terrorist attacks: 2,977 (5 weeks after PDB warned Bush about it)

    Korean War (33,686) + Vietnam War (58,220) + Afghan War (7,970): 99,876

    WW1: 116,516 (83 weeks for US; 1403/week)

    WW2: 418,500 (195 weeks for US; 2146/week)

    Civil War: ~620,000 (213 weeks; 2911/week)

    Spanish flu: ~675,000 (~117 weeks; 5769/week)

USA: 4% of the world’s population, 20% of its COVID deaths. And we all know why and who.

And now acquittal. I wish I could vote against the Senators who voted against conviction. The best we can do is shame them at every opportunity, and Chump and his MAGAts. To the deepest and hottest gullies of hell with them all.
