Equality means equal. The only people it discriminates against are those such as bigots and white supremacists that don’t think we are all created equal.
I think there’s a much more interesting set of issues here. My own feeling about life is that before I start making big judgments about people I want to observe. One might have thought—most people used to think and some still do think—that biological sex is the same as gender. I won’t go into details, but the biology in fact is more complicated, and there are cases that are unclear just as a matter of physiology or biochemistry. In addition, some people are not comfortable with the gender assignment that seems to go with their physiology. Some people feel so strongly about this that they are willing to go through prolonged medical treatment to change gender. Obviously a lot of this makes some people uncomfortable. Some people really want to feel that there’s something fixed and immutable about the correspondence of sex and gender. Until recently there was little or no recognition that sex and gender can be different, and many people went through life living in distress and confusion because they couldn’t live according to their feelings. We are going through a lot of social changes, and there’s no saying where we will end up in ten or twenty years. I tend to favor the rights and freedoms of individuals, whenever possible.
THIS is your great concern? Racism leads to colored people being killed, poor people are homeless and hungry, 400,000 are dead, hospitals are full, Republicans fight against a proper living wage, rioters invade the Capitol and THIS is your worry?
