It’s been my experience that the harder the labor, the lower the pay.

There’s an old saying: “Those who know how will always work for those who know why”… Usually, the people standing up are working on the orders of the people sitting down.

Wait a while. With the lack of kids entering trades, those who do will be the ones naming their price in the near future. Have you tried getting a plumber or electrician to show up lately and if uou were lucky enough how much it cost for them just to show up?

I stood up and crawled upon my knees, doing both still did not make the sitting money!

The generals make the command, the foot soldiers meet the demand… “forward he cried, from the rear, and the front rank died…”

When I was the one standing up I wanted to be the one sitting down. I worked hard. I learned. I earned the sitting down job. After a while I learned why the sitting job payed more. The stress of the sitting job was harder on my mind and body than the standing job ever was.

That said, we need more people willing and able to do the standing jobs and do them well. If the government wants to pay for education pay to teach the standing jobs and let the liberal arts people pay their own way.

Sits apparently doing nothing at a empty desk. Must be related to the owner.

I have worked all types of jobs from untrained labor to desk based design work. I found that the more skilled technical jobs pay better. My current job as a draftsman pays well, but often comes with stress related headaches as they require more thinking on my part.

It has always seemed to me that the more difficult to find people qualified to do a job, the higher the job paid. Supply and demand. Like banjinshiju, I have also worked a myriad of jobs from minimum wage cashier to Ph.D. research scientist. Just about anyone could to the cashier job, it is more difficult to find someone to do the research job, hence the higher pay.

My experience is find a job were profit means little. The money comes slow when the people above you want more.

The ones sitting usually have all the money to start with.
