There was a story last spring about a couple who “met” from his roof to her balcony in a different building. They eventually found a way to phone, and eventually, he invited her on a date: She walking, he in one of those giant transparent hamster-ball things. It was way cute.
I met my wife in 1965. I was barely 16, she was a couple days shy of her 15th birthday. After about 3 dates, I decided she was the one. We got engaged in 1970 and were married in 1971. I never had to do the “dating thing.” I haven’t got a clue how the game is supposed to be played, but I don’t think that social distancing is helping any.
That was Thanksgiving for our family. The hugs and kisses were sent by eye to eye mail and arrived safely. Hope the same for all who gambled on distancing as a way of betting on future in-person meets. Stay safe and be well.
I “love” all the stories about the couples that postponed their weddings this year. I got married in June, with my daughter, her boyfriend and two friends attending in my back yard. I couldn’t even get a Justice or pastor to come. We decided that the commitment was more important than the big wedding (it was never going to be big anyway). Maybe a 2022 honeymoon? lol.

No idea if they’re still in “touch.”

Last December articles were saying that next year would give all 2020 vision and allow us to see people clearly as they really are….sadly, it did.

I’d like to see how long those two could last in a bubble together.
