That’s why the law needs to be changed to include a non-executive panel to be included in the pardon process. The President should still be able to nominate people to be pardoned, but there should be a requirement that the pardon be approved by a bi-partisan committee.

Had a nightmare last night where dearest leader pardoned every one in the fed pens in one fell swoop. Desperately searching for someone that will love him.

Presidential pardons are intended to undo problems caused by a broken system. With this president, though, it’s the pardon system  itself that’s broken. Well, that and everything else to do with the mango mistake.

Sorry, pardons are cash only. Mr. Trump is wary of deadbeats and grifters.

Flynn says he “feels free at last”…to be pardoned, you have to admit to the crime. He said “I never done it”, then said “I did do it.” (Didn’t he take a plea deal?) Now he feels OK. Another member of the “Reality is, Whatever I Say It Is.” club.

Kind of odd that trump has been against sanctuary cities.. yet has no problem with setting known criminals free. Nah.. not odd at all, just the republican double standard.

In better times, we could expect those pardoned to be like O.J. Simpson, who was freed in court but shunned everywhere else. Today, though, those felons will be regulars on Fox News. “You’re a Republican. We forgive you.”

Clay – just a minor nit to pick, this year’s turkeys – Corn and Cob, are snow white. The Loser isn’t about to pardon brown birds or people of color if he can help it.

The most intriguing question about Trump is will he pardon himself and trust in his handmaiden right SCOTUS majority to sustain it, or will he resign on Jan 19 and trust Pence to sign the pardon papers prepared for him?

Trump is setting up for a run in 2024. Of course, that seems deranged at the current time. But Trump’s plague isn’t going to magically disappear when Biden takes office. It is out of control and we can only wear our masks, stay away from other people and hope for the vaccine to really work. The way to make a plague disappear is to never let it get out of control in the first place. Trump cut the team that was supposed to do that out of the 2018 budget. We also have a financial mess crated by Trump;s failure to manage the pandemic, or even make a legitimate effort to do so. This is going to take years and a massive effort to correct. Small businesses are closing, people are out of work. Managing to avoid a depression like the 1930’s is going to be the goal. Returning to normal is a dream.

Now, when we don’t have sunshine and lollipops by the first of March, the media will start picking at Biden’s administration. Mistakes will be made, and they will highlight them instead of the good being done— because they get better ratings. And, frankly, because we deserve to know about those mistakes

Since we will still be digging out of the mess the Republicans left in 2024, there is a good chance that people will be stupid enough to put them back in the White House, so they can create more mess for the next Democrat to get stuck with.
