So hilarious how “genuinely concerned” Lindsey Graham was all of a sudden, about the dire issue of too much money in politics before this election.
If the Dems getting their fundraising $h!t together is what it takes to bring Republicans on board to get rid of “Citizens United” and set stricter limits on campaign contributions, I’m all for it!
They should limit the duration of political campaigns while they’re at it.
I’ve begun to wonder what will comedians and political pundits do without a Trump to provide such juicy tidbits to gnaw on. Al is just bringing this situation to the light as we get ready for a president who just does a good job, has the support of most of the people, doesn’t hate the media and only has a stutter now and then, instead of bald faced lies. What will the likes of Colbert and Kimmel do for jokes when there is no wonderful source of material available free of charge on twitter on a practically hourly basis? Well, I guess we still have the likes of Moscow Mitch and Sweet Lindsey to provide source material for some time. And you can bet El Dumpo won’t go quietly into the night, back to his NY tower and the Dump indictments will be a source of amusement for some time. But, in the media world, things are a-changin’.
I, a notably flawed human being striving to be better, have always figured that if I can leave this world with one more positive thing done than negative, I will have left it a better place.
If a single vote more for Biden than Trump turns us around, that vote will have left us in a better place. Few things are revolutionary. Evolution takes time, and devolution tends to lose out over time.
Well, actually, there WAS a blue wave. Biden got 74 millions votes, more than any candidate in history. But there was also an almost equivalent red wave, giving Trump about 70 million votes, the second most of any candidate in history.
The Democrats have had no practice in the art of buying votes. Maybe they should have hired a Mitch McMafia clone to manage their campaign cash. (Granted, they would have to keep an eye on the artful dodger and their money.) /s
Reports are that Sheldon Adelson tossed in upwards of $100M between Sept and Oct to help Republican races, Mitch McConnell had to unexpectedly tap into his Senate PAC for ten$ of million$ to help boost sagging campaigns, Lindsay Graham showed up on Fox News more than a few times begging for ca$h. Trump is now raising money to fund voter fraud lawsuits, but up to 50% of your donation towards that could be used to help pay off his campaign debt…
On the Dem side, Bloomberg spent $100M in FL and $15M between TX/OH, Jaime Harrison raised $57M to fight Graham, and the total cost for Maine’s Senate seat was $100M between the two.
This is not the entire list…
Can we all at least agree that this level of spending is obscene, and that since the Constitution starts “We the people…” and not “We the PACs…” Citizens United needs to be overturned, or are we really voting for the Sheldon Adelsons, the Mike Bloombergs, the Koch brothers, the George Soros, etc… of the world?
