We need the highest turnout in history. The GOP is counting on a low turnout for a mere runoff to win both seats. High turnout makes it far more difficult for the GOP to win. These seats WILL determine who has the majority in the Senate. It’s THAT IMPORTANT!
If the two parties split, each gaining a seat, therefore tied, the two independents could actually control the senate – – maybe make Bernie the power leader, and Chuck and Mitch mad as hell..
The ads have already started. I’m curious to see what Senators Perdue and Loeffler will use as a platform. Since he is apparently on the wane in Georgia, a platform of blind support to Donald Trump is not likely to sway an electorate which voted to oust him.
I made donations to both Democrats yesterday. I expect that both national parties will supply unlimited funds to their respective candidates but I wanted to be a part of the deal.
If the Democrats really push, we’ll get BOTH of those two Senate seats and control the Senate! Then Mitch McConnell, a holdout from the 19th century, can eat humble pie as major legislation to bring the U.S. into the 21st century will finally be passed on—in alphabetical order—climate change, education, health care, immigration and infrastructure.
Were you impressed by Kamala Harris last night? Imagine how much MORE impressed you’ll be if she gets to cast the tie-breaking votes in the US Senate for the next 2 years.
Can’t remember where I first read it — 20 years ago at least, but probably hasn’t changed much since then — but serious studies showed that 10-15% of the total economic activity in New Hampshire occurs every 4 years as all the hopeful candidates for the nominations of the 2 major parties spend money like water there to get a leg up on the nation’s first primary. I suspect that something similar is about to happen in Georgia.
Also keep in mind that about 300,000 ballots were scanned INTO the postal system (they reached a postal facility) but were never scanned OUT (never delivered), and, in a few facilities, over 300 ballots were found bundled but not delivered. DeJoy has been in his prime…
I live in what might be considered the best of all positions for this runoff: I have enough cash on hand to donate a few Simoleons to both the Democrats AND I am outside the range of the GA TV ads! You, too, may place your bets, which I recommend:
The Senate can flip to the Democrat control (with Harris being the deciding vote) if both Senate races in the Georgia run-off elections fall to the Democrats.
Now, the big question appears to be what will all the Trump-worshiping MAGAdiots do – will they turn out to vote for an election that doesn’t have Trump on the ballot?!

Serves some the folk in Georgia right for listening to Fox News instead of their hearts and brains.

Republicans need not send money for their candidate. Lindsey Graham is sending $500,000. he WAS going to give Trump for a legal defense fund. . . . /s
