If either of them can help heal the divide, it’s Smiling Joe. I’m looking forward to seeing him try, though I’m not holding out much hope that he’ll succeed as well as we need.

Call this melodramatic if you care to… but it is the way I see the present reality.

The first two sentences of the Gettysburg Address, have been on my mind every day since the 4th of July.

I’ve quoted them to certain friends and relatives in the context of conversations in which they revealed that they would be voting for … or, at least, not voting against … Donald Trump.

Every time, I’ve found myself focusing on the word “testing.”

Each time, I’ve felt (and said) that if Trump were re-elected I couldn’t imagine it as anything other than our national failure of that test.

Not ending with a BANG! as In a literal Civil War, but with a whimper, as in a meek surrender to obvious evil, and in some measure an actual embrace of that evil.

trump specializes in keeping one team fighting against another, he will keep this version of civil war alive for the next generation… or, till he gets thrown in jail.

For many it wasn’t for Biden so much as it was not Trump. Even if Biden fails overall he will at least try to bring a measure of some dignity and sense of patriotism to the office. Could be those other countries with whom we were once ‘partners’ will once again look at the US as something other than a really bad soap opera with one drama queen chewing the scenery in every episode.

An awful lot of people don’t care. Just so they get to shoot. Their mouths off, of course!

Hey, it is election month.

Trumps Brown shirts aka MAGAts are attempting to pull a Bush 43(See FL after 2000 election)and force states to stop counting ballots while Trump is ahead. OTOH, without Putins help, Trumps attempt to redo his 2016 DNC emails(Wikileaks) scandal with a very poor attempt to schmear Hunter and his father Joe Biden, very poorly done political smear job

Trumps lawyers meanwhile are trying to get the SC to force a couple of states to stop counting ballots while Trump is ahead.(if the SC sides with Trump, at least 71 million voters are going to really hammer the entire Federal Court system due to it becoming political rather than actually enforcing the Constitution(The “I like beer” SC justice did exactly that in his WI ruling) and being Trumps water boys)

Trumps MAGAts are trying to intimidate those counting ballots, also claiming-PA for 1 state-that a couple of states do not have Republicans along with Democrats counting ballots. In WI (and AZ?) the Trump people want a statewide recount. Who pays for that? I do have to wonder tho, Trump and his WH swamp monsters are widely known for projecting. ie: Blaming Dems for what they are doing. So if Trump is claiming lots of cheating by the Democrats, doesn’t that mean that every state Trump has won should be recounted? Because Trumps A$$ Hats are very very sloppy when it comes to making shite up.(Russians they ain’t)

Biden now has over 71 million votes, most ever in any Presidential election.

According to a little known paragraph in the constitution, if a president hasn’t be chosen by the 14th of November, USA revert to a British Colony.
