It’s quite informative to read BBC, Guardian and Al Jazeerea, to get a different view on things from what we see more locally.

The rest of the world is getting tired of the crack house that is America dragging down the property values of the rest of the earth neighborhood.

I wouldn’t be so drastic. We all travel nowadays and, most likely, we have infected each other .

This is almost true, but no Ted, you didn’t spread it all by yourselves. Typical American arrogance.

The rest of the world probably cares about America in much the same way they care about bleeding hemorrhoids. They don’t know the real America but they frequently learn about our military-industrial complex (maybe the right word is fetish) the hard way.

Tough to ignore a predatory, heavily militarized empire, though neither its ruling classes nor its ordinary citizens recognize it as such, and would no doubt deny it. That’s one of the biggest differences from its British predecessor.

Ted Rall is sounding more and more like Jane Fonda.

To be fair, Mr. Rall, Americans also didn’t care about Blacks dragged from Africa and subjugated to centuries of slavery nor Indians droven from their ancestral lands in genocidal wars.

Do you have a citation for how Americans spread it outside the U.S.? I imagine there was some spread but I hardly think Americans were the major contributing factor.

Timely. Ted mentions Trump virus for the first time only 303 days after it started to spread.

Yes, Rall is absolutely right and this holds true for the entire history of this country. After claiming that he has no power or viable influence in a previous comic; and after constantly repudiating our entire system of governance, I truly wonder why he lives here. It’s a corny saying but there is a basic truth in “lead, follow or get out of the way”. Of course, I would be remis in not pointing out that in the last panel, he is confusing “worry” for “care”. the comment by the person in that panel is an expression of self interest.

To be accurate: the Viet Cong (south Vietnam communist insurgents) and the NVA (north Vietnamese army) were responsible for many, if not most of the civilian deaths. These forces started the war in order to make South Vietnam a communist country.

Americans recognize and remember and mention American dead, Vietnamese recognize and remember and mention Vietnamese dead.

Americans talk about American dead, and do include the world dead in the numbers presented, usually as a whole versus American dead, who lead the world in COVID-19 deaths.

The rest of the world used to look to the U.S. for leadership and aid and advancement. But not so much the last 4 years. Looks like we’ll be back very soon.

A viable news source, instead of Sputnik International, the news website platform established by the Russian government-owned news agency Rossiya Segodnya, would provide all that fact.

Yes, Ted, I’m not sure Vietnamese are crying for dead American soldiers either (but I agree that in most cases we’re the perpetrators).

The USA could be the world leader, but republicans want us to be the worlds covid spreaders. Moscow Mitch will still be around to block all American progress and steal all of Biden’s judges and prevent any effective attack against covid.
