Judge Amy seems creditable and while it seems to be a sure thing that she will be confirmed, there is hope that she like some earlier conservative appointees will grow into the job – think Warren (Earl that is) and Roberts.

“Judge Barrett, given that the idea that women should subordinate themselves to men is not only against the public interest but lunacy, regardless of its source, can you categorically state that such a consideration will never enter into your deliberative process?”

Guilt by association is a logical fallacy, but with this President, well, let’s put it this way, if he recommended me for a job, well, I would pass; I simply would not want my name forever associated with his… Whatever her record, I expect we will always hear “she ruled like what Trump would have wanted, or she ruled against what Trump would have wanted” just like we hear with Gorsuch and Kavanaugh, and other Supreme Court appointees…

“Trump hater”, just like “Bush hater” during Dubya’s presidency, is used by his supporters to imply that the negative feelings toward either president were due to some ingrained psychological mindset, such as Trump has displayed toward blacks, rather than bring the deserved response to actions taken by the president in question. I will admit that Trump’s general worthlessness as a president and as a human being move me closer to something like hate.

    ARE YOU MISSING THE POINT?

The GOP has “stacked the court” for the ENTIRE Judicial system for years now. Moscow Mitch blocked a hundred Obama nominees, plus of course the absolutely shameful example of Merrick Garland, which was bad enough then, but is even worse in the way they are jamming Amy Coney Barrett down our throats now.

Twenty-four percent (24%) of federal judges are appointed by #45, a significantly higher percentage than any other recent president in a first term, going back as far as Reagan. (Obama had 30 appointed, #45 has had 53 appointed).

    As far as other issues:

    - #45 has appointed more women – than other Republicans. Far less than any Democrat going back to Reagan.

    - 85% of his appointees are white. This is less than George W Bush’s 92%, but far whiter a slate than any of the past three Democratic presidents (64% Obama, 72% Clinton, 79% Carter)

Mr. Campbell, It IS NOT that many of us hate Trump, but that we despise and abhor what he does, what he says and the goals he espouses. The people he appoints are there to further his attacks on the United States.

All she can hear is “interpret law however the GOP tells you to”… and “don’t forget your loyalty to Trump (since he got you here) when he wants personal favor rulings”…

Too few are the Republicans who are willing to admit the mistake they made in 2016.

The problem is that by voting for someone, many people feel that in a way, it gives them a certain ownership of that candidate. But with Il Douche, they don’t want to own his crimes or his incompetence, so instead, they own his denial.

Actually, in this case, it’s not so much hating The Occupant, as it is hating the radical right-wing agenda of the whole GOP who want to roll us back to the good ol’ days when white men were men and blacks and women were subservient. Something which Barrett fully  believes in her heart of hearts. Of course the fact that the Mango Mistake is still in the White House (some of the time) tells us, again, that it’s the GOP who are the problem.

From what I’ve seen, the Democrats have been talking about health care, and whether she is aware of what the President expects of her as a Supreme Court justice. Ms. Barret seems to expect us to believe that she has no idea why she was nominated. I guess we’re also supposed to believe that she lives alone in a cave somewhere in the mountains with no connection to the world. No issues with her credibility either, right?

    Why would anyone hate Trump?

Not even 220,000 covid deaths, massive corruption, massive cruelty, constant LIES, inspiring the Michigan Liberators and other white supremacists, TREASON, constant law-breaking, failure to respond to the pandemic, etc.

I mean, those are just minor character flaws, like his adultery, embezzlement, defrauding people out of their life savings, stealing from kids with cancer, etc.

    .

A small price to pay in exchange for a return to when America was Great with open discrimination, Jim Crow laws, and Those People knew their place.

When asked about Trump saying he’d only nominate a pro-lifer she testified, “I DON”T RECALL". . . . realizing she wasn’t going to LIE under oath. The typical non-answer that answers what she will do.
