There’s more than one way to drive men away. Looking like you are probably carrying every STD is a good one.

I just watched “Just Mercy” last night. It’s too soon to laugh about anything related to the police.

I’d be willing to walk all wiggly if it got me out of a traffic ticket. The last time I got pulled over, two lanes were merging into one just before a signal. I slowed down to allow the car next to me to merge over into the through lane. He hesitates a moment, and so do I, then he goes for it, and really takes off. I see the light start to turn, and go for it myself. Of course I got pulled over for running a red light. I explained the situation to the police officer, and said if he gave me a ticket he would be discouraging courteous behavior. He ran my license and gave me a warning. He turned out to be a pretty decent guy.

Most cops, unless they’ve showed up for work with a chip on their shoulder, are reasonable people.

The “abject paranoia” by a child of a Police Officer scares me. I was a police officer for 13 years before I became a Criminal Prosecutor. I can attest that Police Officers are real people persons, just like you all are and we love children as most of us are parents. We do not want to hurt or even arrest anybody. However, the real world is not Mayberry, USA. Our job requires us at times to arrest people and use all the tools at our disposal in order to protect you. If we use are weapons, they are used as a “last” resort. Are there bad cops? Sure. Are their bad Religious?, Bad Teachers, Bad Medical Professionals, Fire Fighters, etc. Yes to all of the above. We as cops hate bad cops and when we identify them they too are arrested and prosecuted. Bad people in any profession need to be removed. Police Officers in most agencies go through a rigorous hiring process taking several months including extensive background and psychological testing. We go through months of training before we ever get into a Police Car. We are trained, observed and screened even after the Police Academy for at best a mid level pay position. We ARE you. The best of you. I apologize for this comment’s length. And yes, I too liked pretty women flirting with me.

Can’t we please meet Trout’s mom? She sounds like a whole lot of fun.
