Come on, Agnes… and the rest of you….
surely by 10 or thereabouts you’ve learned your address….
that thingy with numbers on it you write on envelopes.
Envelopes… yes, you DO know what those are.
The thing you put a letter in…. no, a real letter… a paper one.
I know e-mails are longer than texts…. but they’re not real letters.
What’s that? With a pen. You write them with a pen.
Fold them up and put them in an envelope.
OK, how about a birthday card?
Agnes… you don’t even have a smartphone or a computer.
The one you made from a dollar store Oat-ios box doesn’t count.
Surely you’ve gotten a card or a letter?
And Grandma gets envelopes from the mail person…
yeah, like bills and stuff.
It’ll start with Grandma’s name….
and under that, is your address.
Your street, with maybe a number before it….
or maybe the name of your mobile park….
Then comes your STATE… and your zip code.
THAT’s the state you live in.
Yes, really.
