I called my sister one time and she mentioned her husband, obsessed with cycling, had just returned from France. I asked her if he went to the Tour de France, meaning as a spectator, as it had been going on at the time.
Later learned that the two of them seriously believed I thought he was actually in the race. He took it as quite the compliment and bragged to everyone for ages about it. He was close to 60 years old at the time, and, despite the cycling, he had a massive pot belly (and looked beyond ridiculous in biking shorts). The male ego knows no bounds.

The best part of chasing cars and bikes is running. Catching them is a waste of time. They taste terrible, or so I suspect.
