It is the media’s job (and by media, I means news outlets) to hold the political class’s words against them. The solution is to say what you mean, adjust as you find new information (Which includes acknowledging error), and be honest.

Don’t worry – the loyal will ignore and dispute anything the media presents that makes their saviors look bad… even when those saviors do it during a live feed…
