Because when you want a tomato with flavor you must grow it yourself ;-)

We moved, so our tomatoes are in containers this year. We’ve gotten two large tomatoes so far, a couple handfuls of cherry tomatoes and one yellow squash. And the squirrels eat all of the strawberries.

And a Plugger usually has to pick twice the amount needed to get to the kitchen because he eats as he goes.

There are 2 of us; every year hubby’s garden is 20 feet wide x 50 feet long. I asked once why we need a garden so large. His answer, being the Kentucky boy he is—someone might need it. Feel free to stop by lol

In my 52 year gardening career, I’ve always shared more than 80% of my garden.

Mmmmm…a big fresh-picked tomato, still warm from the sun, with juice running down your arm if you don’t slurp quick enough when you take a bite…

My father would plant tomatoes every year… and they always arrived in numbers WAY more than enough for our family. …altho, a BLT with tomato just off the vine was nirvana

Amen to that! I just want to try all kinds of different seed varieties to see what they do. I can usually find suckers for the excess.

Mmm. Fresh vine ripened garden tomatoes. Some bread, a little mayo and I’m done. And done. And maybe just one more done.
