I had a root beer float from A&W a few months ago. I had them use diet root beer so I didn’t feel quite as guilty about it. They do make the best floats, in my opinion.
Declaring war on kitties does not show great intelligence, doggie. You didn’t see what Chesney did to those big bully dogs who were threatening Oliver recently. And you haven’t seen what Lily can do when she gets mad. No, it isn’t wise to stir up these cats. They’ll show you who is smart – and you will be “smarting” when they’re through with you!

GLOBAL SLEEP UNDER THE STARS NIGHT – I’ll be sleeping under the stars for sure. But there will be a roof between me and those stars. And if the weather forecast is right, there will be clouds between the roof and the stars.
NATIONAL SNEAK SOME ZUCCHINI INTO YOUR NEIGHBOR’S PORCH DAY – I don’t grow zucchini and so far, nobody has ever sneaked any onto my porch.
NATIONAL HAPPINESS HAPPENS DAY – This hasn’t been the happiest year we’ve ever known with that stupid virus going around. I hope we can all find happiness someplace.

NATIONAL DOLLAR DAY – Gimme, gimme LOTS of dollars! Aside from cats, dollars are one of my favorite things to have!
NATIONAL FROZEN CUSTARD DAY – I don’t have frozen custard in my freezer. Will ice cream or sherbet do?
NATIONAL GARAGE SALE DAY – This is the weekend my hometown is doing their “village wide” garage sales where lots of people have garage sales. I like a good garage sale, but I really don’t need any more junk.
NATIONAL BOWLING DAY. I LOVE bowling, but haven’t been bowling in years. I wonder if my old bowling shoes even fit anymore? I have my own ball. I really ought to go bowling again!
It’s a good thing I got those brakes on my car fixed. While driving home from work last night (around 11:15 PM), a small animal started running across the street in front of me. I thought from a distance it might be a cat, but by the time I stopped, I could see it wasn’t a cat. The animal stopped, then turned and ran back where it came from. It didn’t run like a cat. I think it was a skunk, but I’m not certain. Anyway, I stomped hard enough on the brakes that the bag I had on my back seat flew off the seat. How nice to hit the brakes and not hear that awful rubbing, grinding noise!
Later, I saw 3 deer standing near the side of the road. They made no attempt to cross, but I tapped on my brakes just in case. No stomping this time because there was a tailgater right behind me. Luckily, the deer didn’t try to cross the highway.
I noticed today the Two Cows and a Chicken has been pulled from the line-up. There hadn’t been a new post in almost a year. I wish they had done re-runs from the beginning. It was a neat strip. Steve Skelton will be missed.
I’d been looking for this pic for AGES & just happened to run across it this morning. Maybe not the best pic of PJ (RIP), but the T-shirt was so apropos with the kitten…
When I let Moxie out for her pre-bedtime potty last night, she kept running side to side of the upside down wheelbarrow I keep behind the house. Couldn’t get her away from it. Finally went in and got a flashlight so try to see what she was after. I saw a small possum hiding behind the wheelbarrow (it hissed at me). Got her collar and leash to drag her away (and around the yard until she did her business) and then into the house. It was gone this morning so I guess it had some sense. She’s caught a couple of them in the past. Something (probably a lizard) is hiding under the shed as well so that drives her nuts too.
About the COD comment above – my friends in San Diego said most places are no longer accepting cash. Credit or debit only. I see many problems with that. Here, the first change was with the company that did our closets and garage. If you wanted to use a credit card, they charged you an extra 2% (or whatever the cc company charged them). We paid cash. They did have a quickbooks account set up that was really easy to use…money went from my account to theirs. Then, the place we take the trucks started doing the same thing, but made all transactions cash only. He still takes my checks because we’re long time customers and I bet he does it for others. Brad was at WM the other day and said the self-scan areas are credit or debit only. No more sticking cash into their machines. I think it’s stupid. Someone said it’s because money is dirty. Well, no chit, Sherlock. Most paper money is tainted with cocaine! So, take it from the machine and clean it. But, the human cashiers still take cash. Explain that to me.
If that doggie expected to be taken seriously, he’s barking up the wrong tree. On another note, saw four rabbits, a raven, and a dragonfly while out walking today.
