“I went from the trailer park to somewhere and back.”
Agnes’ journal and Rshive’s comment together remind me of my so-called “Google Timeline.”
I get an e-mail every month from Google Maps, telling me everywhere I went… such exciting news!
It’s not like I requested it… I’ve turned off “Location” on my phone…
clicked “Do not track” in my browser… but something I do must keep turning it back on.
Well, I hope they’re getting a vicarious thrill…
Ever since quarantine started… it shows that my range is about 2 miles…
and that a few times a month I visit a couple of grocery stores.
Wheee!
Wile I’m here…
Somebody posted a quote yesterday attributed to “Louisa May Alcott”
“I slept, and dreamed that life was Beauty; I woke, and found that life was Duty."
Sorry… but I just have to say…
It’s NOT from Louisa May Alcott.
Nor Lord Byron, Rabindranath Tagore, Kahlil Gibran, Confucius, or any of the less and less likely people I’ve seen it attributed to on the internet.
Don’t believe internet quotation sites!
Even supposedly reputable ones like Brainyquote.com and Goodreads.com often attribute the same quote to several different people, with no proof.
There’s even a site where you can create graphics attributing any quote you like to anybody you like… or just to random people.
That particular quote, miserable sentiment as it is, was once very popular…
I used to have several Victorian pillowcases embroidered with one line or the other….
done from must have been the same transfer pattern, but stitched by different hands..
It’s actually an 1840 poem, by Trancendentalist poet Ellen Sturgis Hooper (1812 – 1848):
“I was taken aboard a UFO today, but the government has forbidden me to write about it.”
“Monday: Trout & I went to the $ Tree today! Found a shiny, new dime on the sidewalk. Can you believe, Trout had just 90 cents? What Luck! Bought Gum.—-Me ❤️❗️
I came,, I saw, I went back home.
The day the Bastille was attacked, Louis XVI wrote in his diary “Rien”.
My life and many others these days.
That last panel is me
Something happens every day. It just isn’t always obvious what the significance is at the time.
