I saw one of those just a few days ago, first one I’ve seen in years. Couldn’t tell if it was oil or a coolant leak until I passed him and smelled the smoke. It was oil. Since it smoked constantly, and not just when he decelerated, it was probably valves.

Does Pennsylvania have automobile inspections?

That’s definitely dark enough to be oil. Is it getting past the valves, or the rings? One’s expensive, the other’s really expensive.

The one plugger who doesn’t act as his own mechanic. Maybe the hood can’t be opened because it’s so dented.

In many states that car would be pulled over and in some it would be taken off of the road after failing an inspection or smog test.

Reminds me of a car I had in college. It burned so much oil that once when I pulled away at a stoplight, the car behind me turned on their headlights!

In her memoir, Danica Patrick has a photo of her car trailing a huge plume of smoke. The caption reads, “Does this smoke make my butt look big?”

Each time there’s a strange noise coming from my car, my wallet skips a beat.
