It’s obvious you don’t know the lyrics , Bob . . . . like Trump singing the National Anthem. Give you credit for knowing it wasn’t Elijah Cummings who died again. Good job.

For someone who supports the IMPOTUS and opposed every effort Lewis made for justice, it reeks of hypocrisy on the worst order to praise him now.

As Mr. Lewis saw in his fight to re-authorize and modify the Voting Rights Act of 1965 (neutered by a majority of conservatives on the Supreme Court in 2013), the battle for all peoples to actually achieve equality continues on. He chose the way of non-violence and dialog to carry on the battle; hopefully others continue his legacy.

    Gorrell LOVED John Lewis.

Except that he was AGAINST everything that Lewis Said, did, voted for, enacted and believed,

So you support calling on Mitch McConnell to immediately bring the Voting Rights Advancement Act to the Senate floor for a vote?

is this sincere tribute to John Lewis or just a quick and easy way to meet a quota?

This cartoon is just this sheet music with the colors inverted:

Based on Gorrell’s portfolio, I wonder WHO gets to overcome or live in peace. I suspect not Lewis.

The contrast is striking, white on black. I wonder what statement Gorrell was making here.

The best tribute EVERYONE can do for John Lewis’ memory is Get out and Vote! If you know of anyone that is not registered, encourage them to do so and do it with proper identification and do it early. If registered, double check that everything is correct and up to date (many have been purged without knowledge) Read up on the issues and become informed. If you need to or want to, request an absentee ballot, fill it out, get it witnessed and returned asap.

Vote as if your life depends on it, John Lewis’ life did. If nothing else, Do it for Him!

It shouldn’t have to still be “someday” at this point, sadly.

I’m still trying to make sense out of the use of rests instead of the lyrics “some day. Oh deep in my heart I do believe we shall over come some day”.

Bear in mind that Gorrell would have supported David Duke if Duke ran against Lewis for his congressional seat.

“My words fly up toward heaven, but my thoughts stay down here on earth. Words without thoughts behind them will never make it to heaven.” Shakespeare.

Gorrell sometimes says the right thing because he thinks it makes him look acceptable, but most of us have seen what he really thinks too many times to ever be fooled by his hypocrisy.
