The less taken path has been taken less in the past than it is now…

Love the cemetery—people and cars—in the background.

This actually happened to me a couple of weeks ago – hiking to my study site, the river usually is on my right. I took a wrong turn, hiked about half a mile, and suddenly it appeared – on my left. “This river shouldn’t be here” doesn’t quite apply to the Cumberland!

I love those old stone fences (We’re lost again?) you still find in remote New England. They’re like old treasure maps, showing where people used to live until we all moved into towns and cities. The Irish brought them here to Kentucky, but you see them much less often.

Excellent! Love the big, 1-panel format. Reminds me of Calvin and Hobbes.

An endless circle. I gather they don’t truly want to leave it.

Reminds me of my childhood through teen years in Maine and Vermont. Summer I was out all day exploring in the woods, shores, on my bike, and like Wallace, hardly had shoes on my feet during those months.

Even more so than usual, I get a very Cul de Sac/Calvin & Hobbes vibe from today’s strip – the drawing style for the former, and the sense of adventure from the latter.

I rarely get lost in overly suburbanized Orange County. [SIGH]
