When citizens and police are on opposite “sides”, we ALL lose. Not that I’d expect Varvel to recognize something that obvious… or state it if he did.

No one should be on the side of a police force militarized and turned against its own citizens.

So naturally, Gary is on their side and not on the side of peaceful protesters.

As I posted elsewhere, when the guardians become more dangerous than what they guard against, it is time to rethink things.

Kind of a slow news week Varvel ? Nothing of bigger importance I’m sure. Just pull another “defund” cartoon out of the trash you decided not to use a ago. How about another one on the history and heritage of the Confederate Flag, NASCAR, or beloved statues of the South?

Cities and towns already have to pay out millions due to bum cops. But the cops keep their jobs. If it were possible to sue the bum cop directly, that would be an improvement as the bums would be less inclined to beat and kill people.

Shouldn’t the real question be, Whose side are the police on? If they are not on the side of the people — ALL the people, not just the rich — then they do not deserve our trust or our tax money. They can be eliminated and replaced with something that better serves the community.

Varvel, who went full Birther on the Bengazhi, story seems to have NOTHING to say about Putin paying for the murder of American solders and Marines. While that was happening Trump was to Stupid or Lazy to read his Daily Brief and tried to reduce the sanctions on Russia and Get them back in the G7

Does Republican Varvel think the Putin bounty on our troops story never happened? I know a lot of Democrats, I don’t know any who want to defund the police. But Republicans sure need their talking points. Meanwhile 5X draft dodger Trump has no answer for bountygate.

More Republicans are leaving the Trump party… even though Trump loves to try to sue everybody in sight for any imagined slight against him…

The cops are taking apart the Seattle Chaz or Chop area, they have reclaimed their precinct.

Gary, if the police are not on the side of the people they serve then there was a failure that needs to be corrected. Several folks here have already said this. More will. We can’t make you listen. But that doesn’t make you right.

It’s tough to be a Republican! Braun votes in lockstep with the Republican brown shirts 95% of the time but just let him have one original thought on how Qualified Immunity could be changed so that it would be more than a "Free Get Out Of Jail Card " and it’s OFF WITH THE TRAITOR’S HEAD!!! I can just picture Lord McConnell in his Vader-esque cape and helmet applying the Jedi choke on Braun for daring to step out of line. And the weaselly Captain Varvel jumping up and down in glee.

So that’s how it is in Varvels mind, Republicans are the good guys, and Democrats(has the same root word as democracy) are the bad guys. Gee whiz! That sounds just like Trump!

I really hate the Democrats messaging advisers. They really suck at it. “DeMilitarize the Police” so they can focus on law and order and all those non-emergency calls can be handled by people properly trained and still considered public emergency resource. No more armored transports; instead they have professionals sufficiently resourced to handle mental health, rape, non-violent disturbance of the peace, vagrancy calls, and proper de-escalation training.

Gary Varvel, you are genuinely in denial, and I’m not just saying that. The day WILL come when the tragedy of the Trump disaster comes to you. And yours. Sadly, the rest of us will have to bear it as well, because of this cult-of-personality stupidity.

Mike Braun is one of the biggest Trump ass-kissers in the Senate, so much so that he has come right out and told his constituents when they ask (myself included) that he “was elected to support Donald Trump.”

But when even Braun makes a half-hearted attempt to have a little bit of a nuanced opinion? He might as well be Che Guevara as far as the wingnuts like Varvel are concerned.

What more proof do you need that this “party” is nothing more than a glorified cult?

This just in; the orange maga bloat said, TODAY, July 1st, “I think it’s just going to go away” He’s of course talking about Covid 19, the little thing that’s cramping his style somewhat. Sounds like it’s exactly what he said before it killed 130,000 people and counting. That’s your guy, Gary!
