Impossible odds.

Given how things tend to work for Nate I expect that Francis will have missed stepping on a base and be tagged out so that the status quo is maintained.

Francis has yet to run the bases. It isn’t a home run, until the batter runs (or in this case walks) home. A step anywhere except toward 1st base, and they are not the winners they think they are.

That’s how my wife and I watched the 2019 MLB postseason; stunned that our favorite Nationals went all the way despite the odds against them. We’d had a so-so season, unaware that their resurgence toward the end would pay off like it did. Since 2015 when we first began following the Nationals, they’d gone to many postseasons and withered immediately. But 2019 kept amazing us.

In the second panel if you look at Chad’s, Nate’s, and Teddy’s faces then remove the mouth it looks like their noses are their mouths
