Since this is part of a rerun arc from 10 years ago, I hope Gasoline Alley artist Jim S. isn’t suffering from COVID-19/Coronavirus to make him put on leave from doing new strips.
Wow, a human moment from Pert! I started reading GA when he was still alive and I don’t ever recall seeing him express anything but greed and exasperation during the many Pert-enlists-Slim-in-a-scheme stories I’ve read.
When my grandpa was dying he saw and heard beautiful things. He would tell my mom, who was visiting him about it, and then he would say, “You can’t see or hear that, can you?”.
Uh oh. Here comes the overreacting: He’s seeing things! He’s too old! He’s losing his mind! He’s a danger to himself!! We’d better stick him in an assisted living facility. And to paraphrase the not so ironically named band Suicidal Tendencies, they have decided what is in his best interests. Walt didn’t make it to 121 by being stupid. Best thing he can do is not give anyone any reason to overreact.

Is seeing tropical birds one of those side effects? Things could get REALLY wacky if that talking parrot from last week shows up!

No Sunday Gasoline Alley strip for May 31, 2020? Maybe Jim S. stopped doing Sunday strips as of last week.
