The “one life” stuff is nonsense. We balance life and economy (among other things) every day. Otherwise we’d have a 10mph speed limit and we’d ban backyard swimming pools.
There’s a sane and reasonable balance of when and how to open the economy. But that won’t happen in most places because, like everything, the issue has been politicized by BOTH sides.
I just had to cancel my annual trip to Maine in late July because the governor’s roll out plan includes a 14 day quarantine for anyone coming from out of state. Yeah, I go to an island in Maine to sit in the house for 14 days. I think that’s just a bit of overkill. My wife looks forward to this every year, more than anything else. We have family there. Oddly, they will visit MA this summer and return home to Maine but will not have to quarantine when they return. :P

“I’m not someone who admits I was wrong often. I called this the flu. It’s not -ten times worse. We should follow the medical pros. Personally, I have to worry about a wife who has RSD -auto immune disorder. We’re all susceptible and in the same boat. Left/right against a global invisible enemy. Not sure if this might be a reason to put our very real differences aside for a minute.” mlester101
So will Lester be that one life he is willing to sacrifice for the economy, or is he one of those that want’s to send someone else’s parent or child to their death so he can buy his carrot seeds? Don’t answer that, we already know.
Whenever a Republikkklan politician or reich-wing talking head says “Americans need to get back to work,” remember what they are really saying, “My money is more important than your life.”
It is trump’s blue-collar, maga-base that is going to suffer because of the speedy reopening without testing. But you and trump will lie about the death count, lie about the reasons, and just plain lie about who is to blame.
If only some central, perhaps federal, authority had rolled out early extensive testing and contact tracing, working with other countries to coordinate supplies and best practices, we wouldn’t have a hodgepodge of state regulations and confusion, among other catastrophic consequences.

Yeah ’cuz saving lives is not as important as saving lifestyles…

Last time you posted an ironic comment of “even if it saves one life”, deaths in America were at 50,000. Today deaths are at 75,000.
This is not one life Mike.
