Any idea how many parents and kids are struggling with this!

It’s not that parents are stupid, we just don’t teach it “the right way”. (also known as “Mrs. Hillbaum doesn’t do it like that!”)

Trying to understand new math will make anyone stupid.

Millions of parents suddenly having to homeschool is going to give a lot of people an appreciation for why we train professionals to deal with their kids for 8 hours a day.

I did my son’s math homework for him ONCE. He never asked again.

The Common Core has done nothing but dumb down America….duh

When I was 18 I decided I wanted to homeschool my child if I ever had one. Eventually I did, and we enrolled him in our school district’s independent studies. By the time he was 9 the assigned teacher that reviewed his work said he knew more about science than she did. After 7th grade she said she had nothing left to teach him so we let him go to public school, at 9th grade. Home school can let your child work at his/her own pace & overall learning can be faster. But it’s not for everyone.

Would these parents be upset if their kids did to them what the parents did to their own teachers: sleep, heckle, and goof off?

As always… the answer is 42.

Before you can home school.. you need to learn a new language.. and for old folk that is hard to do. The way it was.. ain’t no more.

Today’s strip does make me wonder how many students and parents are really just wasting time trying to home school for a variety of reasons.
