Is that red patch were the bowler rubs the ball before each go at the wicket?

I know they are playing cricket, but other than that, I have no idea what’s going on in today’s strip.

Cricket. The interminable game only English are able to understand… Seems that Little Claire really love it, or the players.

Did he get a 6 with a reverse sweep? I’m impressed!

Is Colm the batter? His size and extra age gives him a definite advantage. No need for steroids! Jack seems resentful at the emergence of the school’s new hero.

It’s time to bring in a bowler who’s better at facing lefties.

“crickets” would be my response if you talked to me about Cricket; but then would someone across the pond understand the metaphor? Their Cricket and my cricket would not understand each other. Same as it ever was.

Another entirely new page for the remastered edition. (And tho another appearanthe of Claire before her actual firtht appearanthe.) (But more Claire ith alwayth a good thing, even if it’th only one panel.)

I had a lisp a long time ago and one of the things I like about Allison’s portrayal of Claire is the way he shows her lisp… including now that she’s an adult and still has one at times.
