My brother once threatened to run away from home, I immediately pitched the idea of tearing down the walls between our bedrooms so I could have so much more space.

Katy, you may remodel you own room but not your brothers room

You may not remodel your brother

LOL! Better lose the brother, Katy. No one will buy the space if he’s included!

Btw: Lose the ship-lap on the wall idea too.

An office I used to go to remodeled into “open space” – the result had exposed beams and sprinkler system, partial walls and the general appearance of a remodeling job stopped when the money ran out. The only plus is that there’ll be fewer things to remove when they redo it in 5 years.

When I was a kid I got my sisters room once she moved out. A coat of paint and some linoleum and I was good to go. She had a bit of a fit when she saw it. ‘Hand me down’ means it’s mine now. Period.

You’d probably have better luck appealing to Mom. Dad would probably just give her more ideas.

Thank you for making me look up “shiplap.” But I wonder if the proper term in panel 5 should be “fixing-up”.
