Political wrasseling has gone beyond judo. It has gotten to be like sumo. Would that it actually were sumo, then the bouts would be much shorter. (By the way, NHK is presently broadcasting highlights of the Sumo Tournament, if you want to check them out.) Not to belittle that traditional Japanese sport, but in apt metaphor to sumo, the bloated egos of our politicians ripple and quiver as they butt against each other, slap and push, and strive to push each other out the ring.
It’s nice that Ted is trying to make points about a Bigger Picture, but at this point in time it’s like saying, sure, Hitler is bad but what about them Jews and Communists huh? If we get rid of Hitler we’ll still have corrupt government!
