With Nancy herself, it seems to be an aggressive avoidance of work. It could be argued that she spends so much effort in avoiding doing work, she might as well do the work… because usually she has to anyway.
With Sluggo, though, it’s more of an inborn laid-backed-ness. He seems to effortlessly avoid things that practically call out to be avoided… and he uses that slack to do some real thinking.
