“Ooh! Ooh! I’d like to solve!” Says a sycophant participant. “It’s got to be B-U-I-L-T-Y! That’s because he’s built just like Rocky! I know because I saw it on one of his tweets.”
It does make one wonder about just how intelligent those who you have elected to run the country are. If “they” have trouble with recognizing all the wrong doing here.. heaven only knows what else they are oblivious of.
The problem with this is that a large determined fraction of the populace is not even watching the “show” because they have already decided that Trump didn’t do anything wrong (he said it, the deep state is out to get him, and objective hard facts are politically biased against him anyway). And that fraction controls the Republican primaries in each state, so any Republican that wants to keep their job (priority #1 for Republicans) will remain in lock-step with McConnell and Trump.
There is hope that the “undecided moderates” (which are endangered species, if not as extinct as the Dodo) will use their collective vote to punish the Republicans for their egregious behavior in the general election 2020. Faint hope.
I’m reminded of an old Far Side cartoon. The Crisis Clinic is on fire, being swept downstream, about to go over the waterfall. The Republicans in the Clinic still don’t see any problems.
Watched the votes this morning. Before the first vote tally was given, Gohmert asked how his vote was recorded. During the vote he said NO, then the person tabulating the votes says “Gohmert says NO” but he can’t follow that and needed to confirm his vote was recorded as NO. I was surprised he didn’t repeat that silliness for the second vote.
Some people are oriented at least mostly to the real world. The ones in denial are, therefore, both stupid-seeming and wrong. But they don’t want to know it. Really, it is very much like a toddler tantrum, but done by more than one person who looks like an adult until their mouth opens.

We’ve all solved the puzzle, even the loud mouth liar Republicans know Trump is guilty.
