On March 26, 2012 Obama was talking to Medvedev, Putin’s protégé, at Seoul Korea in a conference on nuclear security. Obama’s microphone was still on when he leaned over to Medvedev and whispered “This is my last election. After the election I will have more flexibility”. This statement became a conservative talking point ever since. It was proof that Obama was “soft on communism”. Mitt Romney stated in an CNN interview “This is without question our No. 1 geopolitical foe. They fight for every cause for the world’s worst actors. The idea that he has more flexibility in mind for Russia is very, very troubling indeed.”
In the third prime time debate between Obama and Mitt Romney, Obama brought up one of Romney’s statements that Russia was our greatest geopolitical foe. “When you were asked, what’s the biggest geopolitical threat facing America, you said ‘Russia.’ Not Al-Qaeda; you said Russia. And, the 1980s are now calling to ask for their foreign policy back, because, the Cold War’s been over for 20 years.”
Mitt was correct due to the “soft on communism” American president, Donald Trump, who effectively gave away the US geopolitical advantage to Russia and China.
In the first place: That was the USSR and it was Communist (despite the name)… This is Russia and it’s more similar to a monarchy than most other government types.
In the second place, Bok is putting words into the Donkey’s mouth that aren’t a particularly Democratic statement. Rather, they’re pretty much the statement that anyone who cares about free elections and national autonomy would utter. Though I guess, that might actually be a truth, since the GOP quite apparently cares about neither.
Simply put, Bok doesn’t care that Putin has murdered dozens of his political opponents in the last 2-3 years! Nor does he care that Putin has been and continues to trying to destabilize democracies all over the world!

How is Russia better now than they were then?
If you were a true Republican, you’d love it if we had similar policies to when St. Ronnie was in charge.

This kind of nonsense opens a question: Who’s the more useful idiot to the Kremlin, Trump or Bok?

This is beyond ironic.

Russia is our friend now, that’s why we let them interfere with our elections, not.

Unfortunately, Obama realized too late how many Republicans were Russian sympathizers. It’s quite obvious now.
