Annoyed at the tree, or annoyed that Pheobe never comes to her open mike poetry sessions?

    “Frought” and “Snot”??

That’s even worse than when Phoebe was trying to rhyme “Autumn” with “Bottom” last month!

Sorry Marigold. No one rhymes better than Zecora.

In the original story of Tarzan, he was somehow able to use various book to learn how to read and write perfect English before anyone found him, despite having no idea how to pronounce any of it. That might be the gnome’s problem.

I disagree, too – but that’s far from a reason to block Marigold.

So in-universe, is troll a job one can take then? Cause the gnome and ghost at least use their logic:-).

I’m pretty sure “fraught” rhymes with “snout” though, right?

I can’t help thinking that the poem using the words ‘fraught’ and ‘snot’ was about Phoebe.

Marigold still has a life beyond you, Phoebe, just as you still have a life beyond her at times.

Marigold and the tree gnome are arguing about what is known linguistically as the cot-caught merger.

In Pink Floyd’s “Money,” the couplet “If you ask for a raise, it’s no surprise…” rhyme. When Dan Reed Network covered the song, they had to pronounce it the same way for the rhyme to work.

I’m sure it varies by accent.

    Marigold’s “fraught” rhymes with snot.

    Or perhaps it does not.

    Does it rhyme,

at least some of the time?

It all depends on whose story you bought. ;-)

Mari’s font in the second panel isn’t bolded and it looks weird. Anyone else notice that?
