@hankmorgan – what ARE you on about? China has historically considered itself the “Middle Kingdom” between Heaven and Earth (i.e., everyone else). Of course they have invaded. They feel ENTITLED to do so.
- Korea: repeatedly. Northern Korea was subject to Han Dynasty China for 400 years! Not to mention invasions by the Mongols, the Qing, and of course the Korean War.
- Vietnam: repeatedly, and for long periods.
- The Sino-Indian War, among others
- Sino-Russian conflicts, each trying to invade the others
- Mongolia: back and forth
- Japan: The Mongol invasions may be the only time, but they did it.
Why are all these replies under this uninformed ignorant comment. This looks like another incarnation of JohnSally Sullivan… Remember that troll?the one that kept getting kicked out? The one that kept developing a new account because of his badgering of commenters in here? Is this the new version of political trolls being developed by the political propaganda factories and getting put into place before the coming 2020 election? They’ve been quiet for a while… Looks like the troll factories are ramping up new accounts to try to influence the readers in here to change their minds and negatively influence their vote in order to re-elect the current illegitimate *resident. Or are the troll factories simply trying out new strategies for more effective political public brainwashing techniques oriented to getting them more earnings power?…. it’s always about the money.
How about the Flying Tigers sent in to drive the Japanese out of China? America’s involvement goes back further than that. Hong Kong is of course a victim of the British lease running out.

It was inevitable from that day in 1997 when Britain returned Hong Kong to China that this would come about. It’s sad.

Lot of pushback on this, I see, but I still like the Hong Kong – King Kong play.

If the “Chosen One” promises aid to Hong Kong, they’re doomed.

It is about control and wealth. Both of them hand-in-hand.
