Practically speaking, this barely went over my head.
I thought “barely” meant “nakedly”.
Like, “Why are you naked?!”
“Because I barely got to work on time.”
“You know, you’re barely practical.”
“I suppose that’s better than being practically bare…”
Alternate dialog: “What’s the opposite of ‘barely’?” “Uh, ‘almost’?” “Almost. The word is ‘practically.’”
If he thinks “barely acceptable” is good, then he must have gotten C minuses in school.
