How to watch sports on TV: 1. Tune to the proper channel and put the sound on mute. 2. Use Youtube to provide a performance of Beethoven’s Sixth Symphony as a substitute for the TV audio.
All the sports I watch are broadcast in Spanish, which is fine by me since I find I’m not as distracted by the sportscasters and tend to concentrate more on the game.
I have noticed that sports announcers in other countries – including the U.K. – concentrate more on describing the game, rather than getting wrapped up in personal recollections or trivia like their U.S. counterparts.
