Well, the Talibans spread in Afghanistan thanks to USA’s support so they could oppose the Russian, and thanks to USA’s support of Pakistan. And the 9/11 attacks were orchestrated by Saudis, best friends of the USA. It’s like feeding a monster believing it is a pet, but of course it’s always for money.
At least there is a common logic with selling lots of guns that are used for mass shootings at home. Saudis masterminded the attacks but they buy a lot of american missiles planes and tanks. Nutcases shoot a lot of people in malls churches or schools, but they get to buy a lot of american guns first.

Ramirez, I think you meant Al Qaeda, most of whom were Saudis. The Taliban were the scapegoats we needed to attack to justify our anger since Saudi Arabia is our “friend”.
The main mistake the Taliban did was asking the US for evidence before locating and handing over someone that was reportedly inside their country, much like what the US did when Turkey demanded we hand over Fethullah Gulen.
Make no mistake, the Taliban are bad people, but they weren’t the ones that did 9/11 and the US usually doesn’t invade countries because they have bad people in them. This was a case of blind revenge.
